Ayurvedic Treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Causes:

·         Viral infection
·         Problems with the immune system
·         Hormone imbalances
·         Psychiatric problems, such as emotional trauma and stress
Chronic fatigue syndrome can be mild, moderate, or severe.
Mild- The individual is able to care for him/herself
Moderate- The individual may have reduced mobility and symptoms can vary, Such person may also have disrupted sleep patterns.
Severe- The individual is able to carry out minimal daily tasks, such as brushing of teeth, coupled with significantly reduced mobility.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome:

Ayurveda sees disease as an imbalance; an unwanted interruption in the body's natural equilibrum. Ayurveda attributes this condition to aggravated Vata dosha. The aggravated vata causes dysfunction of all the Dhatus leading to the Ojus Kshaya (depletion of Ojus) generating negative effects at the physical and mental level, lowered immunity.
The following factors have been postulated by Ayurveda to be the cause of fatigue syndrome:
·         Excessive mental or physical stress
·         Accumulation of toxins in the tissues
·         Improper nutrition
·         Disruption of biological rhythms
·         Blockage of channels of circulation
·         Low immunity and resistance

Balancing the vata, correcting Agni (digestive system and cellular metabolism - Dhatwagni),  strengthening Ojus.
